“It’s my Body”! Good. Then Love it!

One of the slogans used to justify the practice of abortion is this: “It’s my body – I can do what I like with it.” The reasoning is that since the baby is attached to the woman, it is therefore her right to choose what she does with it. Sort of like cutting off a limb, I suppose, although were women to start indulging in that practice, it is doubtful that feminists in general would be rushing to uphold it […]

A Short Break From the Asylum

I just returned from a short break with my family to the Derbyshire Peak District, where amongst the many blessings was the fact there was no internet connection in the place we were camping. In fact, the first time I got even the remotest hint of one was when we ascended to the highest point in the area, Kinder Scout, where suddenly it came alive again. Now before you get the idea that I’m about to have a go on […]

People With Down Syndrome in “Civilised” Denmark Almost Extinct

Here’s one of those moral dilemmas. There are three people in a room. They all have the same medical condition and are in fact the last people alive who have it. It is by no means life-threatening, nor is it contagious, and its main symptoms are physical growth delays and varying degrees of intellectual disability. There is, however, currently no cure for it. Someone enters the room and tells you that they have found a cure, which they are going […]

You Think That Thing is a What? A Living, Viable, Human Baby? Are You Blind?

The thing in the video below is not a baby. Granted, it looks a little bit like a baby, what with that head shaped bit, and those sort of limby looking bits, plus some of the other things that babies have. But actually it has been growing for just 20 weeks and so any resemblance to a baby is purely coincidental. The thing in this video may not even be alive. Granted, it does seem to be moving, but there are a lot […]

How to Prevent the Islamisation of Europe: Stop Stopping Children!

Once in a while politicians say something interesting. However, rare as such utterances are, unfortunately most of the really revealing comments get drowned out by the slurry of media commentary focusing on really important things like what trousers someone is wearing or how someone eats a bacon sandwich. Last week saw such an occasion where something revealing was said, and it was almost universally ignored by the media. It occurred at a conference in Malta, and the one making the […]

Madonna’s Revolution of Love Has Broken Out and it’s Very Very Angry

It’s an interesting phenomenon that despite the multitude of pop songs over the past few decades encouraging us to love one another more there appears, if anything, to be less love in society than before the love song movement began. Perhaps the problem is that the rest of us just haven’t taken their words seriously enough, and so consequently we have ended up with an increasingly divided, broken society. Whatever the reason, you might think that the results would have […]

Ann Furedi and the Immoral Case for Abortion

Has Ann Furedi, Chief Executive of Britain’s biggest abortion provider, BPAS, just admitted being responsible for killing 66,000 human beings in the last year? Judging by a comment she makes in her new book, I would say that absolutely she has. In The Moral Case for Abortion, Mrs Furedi has written that there is nothing morally wrong with destroying a “foetus” because: “it kills a being that has no sense of life or death.” There are two parts to this […]

Buns in the Oven & The Mythical “Age of Viability”

Sally goes into her kitchen to make a batch of buns. She pulls out all the ingredients from her cupboards – eggs, sugar, flour, a pinch of salt, vanilla, baking soda, butter and sultanas – puts them all into a big bowl and mixes them up. She then tips the mixture into some greased tins, which she then pops it into the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The recipe says to leave the buns in the oven for 25 minutes […]

Guess Who Said: “Every Child Deserves the Opportunity to Live up to Their God Given Potential”

So who said it then? It was a well known and charismatic Christian leader in the US, right? No, try again. Maybe some Republocrat candidate hoping to pick up a few more votes by pledging to fix the public school system? No, one more try. Some soppy wet liberal like David Cameron addressing an assembly of schoolchildren and trying desperately hard to convince them of his coolness and grooviness by showering them with flattery and platitudes? No, wrong again. I’ll tell […]

After the Planned Parent Videos, What Next?

Below is a full length version of my monthly column for Samaritan Ministries International The series of videos put out by the Center for Medical Progress have done an amazing job of exposing the sheer cruel, greedy, callousness of that woefully misnamed organization, Planned Parenthood. We have learnt a good many things through these videos, but perhaps most glaring is this: the claim that abortion providers do what they do for the sake of women’s health is as hollow as an empty Coke can. […]

Which is Worse: Killing a Baby or Selling its Organs?

So the 7th Planned Dismemberment sting video is up. This latest one reveals that this grisly organisation actually harvests the brains of aborted babies that are still alive. Yes you read that right. See for yourselves: David Daleiden, director of the Center for Medical Progress, the organisation that has released these videos, summed up as follows: “Today’s video contains heartrending admissions about the absolute barbarism of Planned Parenthood’s abortion practice and baby parts sales in which fetuses are sometimes delivered […]

Planned Dismemberment

Dismemberment: The act of cutting, tearing, pulling, wrenching or otherwise removing the limbs of a living thing. There was a horrific story the other day about a pensioner in St. Petersburg suspected of killing more than a dozen people in the last 20 years. In what is believed to be her latest crime, 68-year-old Tamara Samsonova is alleged to have killed Valentina Ulanova, a 79-year-old woman that she was supposedly caring for, before going on to cut up her body dump the parts […]

How Not to Save a Life

It is a well known fact that the Nazi regime carried out mass extermination of people with disabilities. The programme began with infants in 1939, when under the direction of Philipp Bouhler and Karl Brandt all physicians, nurses, and midwives were to report newborns and children under three who showed signs of severe mental or physical disability. Parents of these children were then encouraged to send them to specially designated paediatric clinics, which were in reality death clinics where the children were murdered […]

Which is Worst: Sexism or Killing?

This Monday in the House of Commons there will be a vote on outlawing sex-selective abortions. The vote is an amendment introduced by Fiona Bruce MP to the Serious Crime Bill. If the amendment is passed, gender-selective abortion will be explicitly outlawed, bringing an end to what some are calling “the first form of violence against women and girls”. Whilst I welcome any possibility of reducing the number of abortions, I am frankly staggered by the perverse logic of many people […]

Richard Dawkins, Down Syndrome & the Sum of Human Happiness

So what to make of Richard Dawkins Twitter comment a few weeks back, where he responded to a lady who claimed that she would be faced with a “real ethical dilemma” if she found out she was pregnant with a Down Syndrome baby in the following way: “Abort it and try again. It would be immoral to bring it into the world if you have the choice.” Whatever else you might think about Dawkins, he certainly doesn’t go in for subtlety, […]

With Impartial Advice Like This, Who Needs Propaganda?

The Daily Telegraph, that bastion of conservative moral values (ha! ha!), has just carried out a sting operation on some independent Crisis Pregnancy Centres (CPCs) around Britain. They sent undercover reporters into some of these centres, posing as women in need of advice, and then reported on the findings. According to the article, counsellors at one CPC informed the reporter that abortion could lead to a propensity to sexually abuse children, and at another clinic a reporter was informed that having an abortion […]

Beethoven: Not a Good Argument Against Abortion

Have you ever heard the Beethoven argument against abortion? It runs something like this: “If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion? You would? Well congratulations — you just killed Beethoven!” I have heard this argument used many times as an argument against abortion and I must say it tends to leaves me with a […]

Lifestyle abortions

New statistics show that there has been an increase in the numbers of married women in their 30s having abortions. BPAS, the UK’s largest provider of abortions attributes this to an increase of financial worries due to the current economic situation (Click on here for the article). This is highly interesting for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the explanation given by BPAS is an unwitting admission that they are carrying out abortions which are illegal. These abortions will have gone down […]
