So the Nunes memo has finally been released, and its contents are indeed damning, although nothing particularly surprising for those who have been paying attention. It has been clear for months that the entire basis for the Russiagate hoax was the so-called Trump Dossier; that this was an entirely unverified and uncorroborated document; and that — as I wrote here — it was quite obviously suspect since it was funded by Mr Trump’s political opponents, including the DNC and the Clinton campaign.
The Nunes memo has not only clarified all of this, but also the fact that the contents of this “salacious and unverified” document (James Comey’s own words) was not only used as a basis to obtain a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) order to spy on a junior member of Mr Trump’s campaign team — Carter Page — but this was done without the Department of Justice or FBI acknowledging to the court the following:
- That the basis for the request (the Trump Dossier), was unverified
- That this Dossier was produced by ex-British spy, Christopher Steele, who informed the associate deputy attorney General Bruce Ohr that he was “desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president”
- That Mr Steel produced the Dossier for Fusion GPS, who were being paid by the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign
Instead, the request relied heavily on an article that appeared on Yahoo News on 23rd September 2016, which itself came from information leaked to the author, Michael Isikoff, by none other than Christopher Steele. In other words, US law enforcement agencies failed to reveal the truth about the origins, the funding and the political bias of the report they were basing their request on, but instead relied on a news article which apparently corroborated the dossier, yet without revealing that it was written from information leaked from the author of the Dossier. Circular Deceit, you could call it.
So to put all that plainly, the FBI and DOJ got the green light to spy on a US citizen on the basis of withholding vital information from the court. Or if you prefer it even plainer, they lied and deceived. Furthermore, the memo also mentions a text message sent from FBI agent, Peter Sztrok to his mistress, Lisa Page, in which he makes reference to a conversation they’d had with then Deputy Director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, where they’d discussed an “insurance policy” against Mr Trump’s election. In other words, they discussed a plot to bring down the President using the whole false collusion narrative. Or if you prefer it even plainer, they were involved in an act of treason.
Former Federal Prosecutor, Joe diGenova, commenting back in January, but having already joined the dots together, put it like this:
“We’re going to discover that the Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, her deputy Sally Yates, the head of the national security division John Carlin, Bruce Ohr and other senior DOJ officials, and regrettably lying attorneys, people who were senior career civil servants violated the law, perhaps committed crimes, and covered up crimes by a presidential candidate (Hillary Clinton) — but more than that, they tried to frame an incoming president with a false Russian conspiracy that never existed, and they knew it, and they plotted to ruin him as a candidate and then destroy him as a president. That’s why this is important. That’s why connecting the dots is important.”
(NB. I thoroughly recommend watching the interview with Mr diGenova).
I don’t doubt that there is much, much more to come out on all this, such as who else may have been spied on illegally. But even given what the Nunes memo reveals, the response of any rational person with a desire for truth and justice, would be to conclude:
- That the rule of law has been destroyed by those charged with upholding it
- That a scandal and constitutional crisis of epic proportions is in the process of being uncovered
- That the United States has been subverted by a small group of very powerful, but very determined people, who have made it their goal to destroy the elected head of state with a whole web of false allegations which they knew to be untrue.
And yet what has been the reaction of American Pravda? Here’s a couple of pitiful pieces from America’s biggest selling “news” papers:
- Trump’s Unparalleled War on a Pillar of Society: Law Enforcement says the New York Times
- Inside the FBI: Anger, Worry and Work — and Fears of Lasting Damage says the Washington Post
They gist of what they are saying is that the release of the Nunes memo, which clearly reveals the lawlessness of certain US law enforcement agencies, is an attack on the rule of law. And so UP is clearly the new DOWN in America!
The response from many politicians and the media all points to what I believe is the coming end of the United States in its present form. It’s one thing to have a small cabal of powerful and very corrupt people doing illegal and treasonous things, yet when their deeds are exposed having politicians and a free media who are so zealous for truth and justice, regardless of what side of the political spectrum they are on, that they call for the removal from office of these people, prosecutions for criminal offences, and a complete reboot of the Intelligence Agencies.
But when you have these kinds of illegal and treasonous actions exposed, and the reaction from huge numbers of your politicians and media is to double down on the lies, and accuse those who have exposed the malfeasance of being lawless or Russian spies, then please know that the writing is well and truly on the wall. With a political and media class so blinded by ideology and hatred (in this case for Trump and Russia), that they can no longer tell the difference between lawlessness and law-keeping, you can be pretty sure that sooner rather than later, God will bring this whole rotten edifice down.
