It was the best of elections; it was the worst of elections. A time of wisdom; and a time of foolishness. Okay, no wisdom. Lots of foolishness, I’ll grant you, but precious little in the way of sagacity. But now that the curtain has finally fallen on the Freak Show Masquerading as an Election, what do we see as we survey the landscape?

It was the best of elections

Mrs Hillary Clinton – probably the worst President America never had – has been defeated, and I rejoice in that. She was the worst because she was the most corrupt. The worst because of her fanatical zeal to see unborn babies killed by the millions. The worst because of her ceaseless lying. The worst because of her spine-chilling response to the hideous death-by-torture of Muammar Gaddafi. The worst because of her clear desire to pick a fight with a country that possesses enough nuclear firepower to destroy the United States (and other countries of course), if backed into a corner.

Mrs Clinton is the epitome of everything that conservatives ought to oppose, and the apex of three great evils rolled into one:

a) The Cultural Marxist social agenda

b) Crony Corporatism masquerading as the free market

c) The neo-Trotskyist ideology of American hegemonic projection through endless war and constant regime change

So I rejoice to see this dangerous woman have her thirst for power quenched and her capacity to do evil cut down.

Actually, it’s for the best for her as well. Further elevation into the power stratosphere wouldn’t have done her any good at all, much less the rest of us. I can only hope that she takes this period of humbling to reflect on words such as these, in the hope that they might bring her to repentance:

He has shown strength with his arm;
He has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
He has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate.”
Luke 1:51-52

It was the worst of elections too

Yes, the sweetness of the Clinton loss is diminished by the nature of the man who defeated her. America has essentially elected a celebrity President – and a horribly crass one at that – on the basis of who he isn’t, rather than who he is. What does he actually stand for? Making America great? What does that mean? He’s given us a lot of soundbites, but precious little substance. People have elected a loose cannon, and although I will hold my breath and give him a chance, nothing about his character, his temperament, not to mention some of the more stupid statements he has made, gives me much confidence that America in four years will be a whole lot better than the America of 2016.

Mr Trump’s victory does nothing to change the root problem. In fact, it merely serves to highlight it. A nation that is given a choice between a tawdry celebrity and a corruption queen is a nation under judgement. And it is under judgement because — as Alexander Solzhenitsyn warned decades ago — it has forgotten God. Solzhenitsyn went on to say this in that same address back in 1983:

“Imperceptibly, through decades of gradual erosion, the meaning of life in the West has ceased to be seen as anything more lofty than the “pursuit of happiness, “a goal that has even been solemnly guaranteed by constitutions. The concepts of good and evil have been ridiculed for several centuries; banished from common use, they have been replaced by political or class considerations of short lived value. It has become embarrassing to state that evil makes its home in the individual human heart before it enters a political system. Yet it is not considered shameful to make dally concessions to an integral evil. Judging by the continuing landslide of concessions made before the eyes of our very own generation, the West is ineluctably slipping toward the abyss.”

That such a great nation should be given the choice between two such characters is testament to this ineluctable slipping toward the abyss, as were the votes to legalise assisted death, stupefaction and the almost unbelievable Californian “porn law”. The swamp that needs draining is far bigger than the one Mr Trump locates in D.C., and it will take national repentance, not another politician making grand promises, to achieve that.

  1. Rob, thank you for speaking out in defense of Hillary’s salvation. I have often lately thought “poor, poor woman” in regards to her walk with the Lord, if she thinks of herself as Christian. I do not know. Perhaps you do. I would appreciate your input. But also, simple question: who lives a more Christian-like life: Trump or Hillary? As has been said, this is a case of BAD and WORSE, and hoping for the least bad outcome.

  2. “A nation that is given a choice between a tawdry celebrity and a corruption queen is a nation under judgement. And it is under judgement”

The Signs of the Times indicate not only the US, but this entire world is under judgment.

I had suspended all belief on the outcome of the election until the results came in because I saw it as a choice between BAD or WORSE. This is how I see it now:

The Billionaire President-Elect has much experience with workers that performed the work that made him rich.

Now that the VP is a Christian fundamentalist, and the Christian Evangelicals supported Trump, discarding the many Biblical references concerning the Rich, I now wonder if they will bring to his attention, this prophecy from their Bibles they never discuss in Public from their TV platforms, but insist the People must follow all Bible teachings?

Go to now, you rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth eaten.
Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. You have heaped treasure together for the last days.
Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by FRAUD, cries: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
You have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; you have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
You have condemned and killed the just; and he does not resist you.
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
    James 5

The last line does imply “regime change” of the rich elites the voters elected a Billionaire to bring about in the USA.

I can only hope and pray, the Future President Trump is born again from the divisive Candidate Trump, being like Clinton exposed in the email as having one policy in Public for the election campaign but another one in Private, and will make the spirit of this letter a constant guiding light governing his behaviour and decision making for the next 4 years,

“I want to tell the world community that while we will always put America’s interests first, we will deal fairly with everyone, with everyone — all people and all other nations. We will seek common ground, not hostility; partnership, not conflict.”

This article leaves out the more important line 53 in the verses cited from Luke 1:51-52
He has filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he has sent empty away.

    Obviously this hasn’t happened yet.

Returning to the US being under judgment, It now 40 years since THE KANSAS CITY TIMES published this Vision of the Future on September 13, 1976. The Future is NOW.

““He came to town for the Republican National Convention and will stay until the election in November to do God’s bidding: To tell the world, from Kansas City, this country has been found wanting and its days are numbered […] He gestured toward a gleaming church dome. “The gold dome is the symbol of Babylon,” he said.”…………….He wanted to bring to the Public’s attention an “idea being put out subtly and deceptively” by the government that we have to get prepared for a war with Russia.”

On the 1st part, Donald Trump is essentially campaigning on the idea the Days of the US are numbered if he is not elected President. It’s other words, but the same General Idea he is Trumpeting.

On the War with Russia part, THE KANSAS CITY TIMES published a 2nd report after the Republicans left town on ALL SOULS DAY, November 2, 1976.

I was probably the only human on earth to notice at the TIME of the 1983 TV movie ‘THE DAY AFTER’ Kansas City was destroyed in a Nuclear Holocaust, the movie pauses at the exact same picture frame THE KANSAS CITY TIMES used in their follow up ALL SOULS DAY report 7 years earlier.

The 2 original 1976 KANSAS CITY TIMES reports can be expanded and read following the link. You can also see clips from ‘THE DAY AFTER’ and more, to compare and come to some understanding of the spirit of OUR GENERATIONS.
